SILENCING THE ARROGANCE OF THE WICKED ONE (2)
Texts: 1 Kings 12:1-14; 1 Chronicles 29:11
We have to have the understanding of who and whose we are to be able to demonstrate the power of our God.
You should not be intimidated by intellectual or political power because God’s power is far greater than any other power. This is you should not be moved by natural realities but by spiritual perspective.
John 1:12, “To them that believe He gave the power to be called the sons of God
Acts 10:38, “Jesus went about [with the Holy Spirit and with power] doing good…for God was with Him.” we also have the power to become, to get and to do. By walking in this understanding of the power that God has given to us, guarantees that no other power will be able to stand against us.
Authority is important for the release of the power; When God gives you authority, power will be released. Luke 9:12
It is not God’s will for us to be intimidated by the arrogance of the devil; the devil’s intention is to get us to the point where we give up on the promises of God for our lives. And we must not forget that the devil is a liar; he cannot say the truth. Also, we must be careful about the people around us who spread the lies of the devil; people who are only onlookers and do nothing but discourage us from believing the power in the Word of God.
Regardless of having people around you that can see your mess, still faithfully follow God, and in time they will see your message and your testimony will silence the arrogance of the wicked one.
We are not to allow our emotions and feelings to override our commitment to God.
Lessons:
- Your banquet is set in the presence of your adversaries
- Power flows through relationship; Elisha was connected to Elijah and he did not allow anything to severe that relationship. God will not put a desire in your heart that will severe your relationship with Him or the people that are a link to your breakthrough.
- Faith demands action. As a child of God, God wants us to go around demonstrating His power. The Kingdom of God is not in Words but in Power.
- If you can see it, you can become it.
- Know the voice that you honor because it determines your victory.
- Say what you want and not what you do not want. Let your words be seasoned with spiritual truths.
- The power that God gives you but be used; and it may not always be for you but for other people around you.
- When God’s power is released through you, it shuts the mouths of the naysayers around you. You become force to be reckoned with.
- You will become an effective witness of the effectual power of God in the life of those who put their trust in Him.
- Elisha followed Elijah closely; how close are you to God or the Spiritual leader God has put around you?
A vision that is from God will not lack provision.
