After 19 Years of Waiting To Have A Child God Did It.
God is so faithful. He always keeps his promises. Our journey started when we got married in 1999 and we have had to wait and believe God for 19 years before we had our first child. The journey began September 1999 when we were joined in holy matrimony. Like other couples, our hope was to embark on the nine month course as a matter of routine. However, 19 years after we were still in the waiting room. We registered online for the Ibidun-Ighodalo Foundation on the 17th of March 2017.We were later called sometime in June 2017 to attend medical tests at Roding Fertility Clinic in Lekki. This marked our contact with the Roding family. In September 2017, we were called to attend the lunch of the Ibidun-Ighodalo Foundation at the Muson Center where about 20 couples were selected out of about 200 who applied for sponsorship under the foundation. However our name was not called out at that point as the devil was trying to delay this testimony. God used Mrs. Margret Irele to push our case with the founder, Mrs. Ibidun -Ighodalo and she eventually agreed to take us on board. So began the journey we are celebrating today. We underwent so many medical test and myself especially had to undergo a painful surgeries. Then we had to wait for two weeks for confirmation of the pregnancy. Afterwards another chapter in the journey began to unfold. The two weeks wait is very critical with lots of prayers, anxieties and strict adherence to medical advice. This is a period when a woman is asked to have a complete bed rest. But psychologically most women find it difficult. But to God be glory, pregnancy was confirmed within two weeks. This marked the beginning of a long journey that culminated in the birth of our bundle of joy. We were virtually counting and recounting the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks and months. Indeed it was a period of long sufferings, perseverance and stubborn faith. During this period I took more than two hundred injections in various parts ofmy body.
VARIOUS ATTACKS AND BATTLES
My Pregnancy was confirmed in April 2018 after undergoing a procedure. Shortly after on the 1st day of June 2018, the devil came to try and destroy what the blood of Jesus had paid for. Around 12 midnight that day I started to bleed and I called the hospital right away. I was told to stay in bed. I did and on that bed the Lord gave me a song which the Lord said is a destiny changer and that He was going to change my destiny that night. I held on to the promise and just kept praising God until the blood stopped
On the sixth month again the Devil came again and I started to bleed. For days I was seeing black blood but the Lord kept putting His praises in my mouth and I remember my hubby asking if he could stay back home with me on that Sunday because of what was happening but I told him since the Lord has given us His word then nothing will happen to the baby, so he could go to church.
1st January God gave His Word in 1 Chronicles 16:8 -36 which spoke about how the ark of God was taken back to Israel. The Lord said 2019 is our year of thanksgiving and celebration and this was confirmed in our 1st January fasting to the Lord that it is indeed our year of fruitfulness and productivity.
There were different forms of attacks by the enemy even through dreams but God’s word strengthened and stood us throughout the 9 months. Just two weeks before delivery I was again told my pulse was rising but still the Lord took charge of the situation.
Then during the period of the delivery God showed up for me because I laboured from Sunday to Tuesday afternoon and had to be taken to the theater. At the theater, the doctor discovered that fibroids was preventing the baby’s head from coming out. The blood of Jesus paid the price. I really appreciate our mummy in the Lord in this journey of 19 years till the date of delivery, she was always having a word for me and this pushed me to have more insight of the word of God and His promises towards me.
God is forever faithful and all glory be to His Name.
